Beard Time

The Saga of the Beard! Sometime in the summer, I was convinced that I should play the Santa for Colin’s brother Paul’s Company Kids Xmas party. It was explained how great it would be because I could have a real beard. Well, I hadn’t grown a full beard for over 35 years. The reason was that Colin had been the Santa for a number of years, but last year his nephew, Nathan recognized his voice, time for a replacement.

Carefully working out a logarithm to determine the amount of time required to acquire sufficient growth for the part, the quest began. Started with a test growth prior to going on a holiday in the south I could see the results of a week of sans razor. Expecting the party to be probably in the second or third week of December, gauging the growth pattern, working backwards I came up with a date to commence operation Santa.

After 10 days, here was the progress:

After 25 days, here is how it was coming along, not too bad, should have plenty of time. Au contraire, mon frère!!!! The date of the party has not in December, actually it had been moved up to November 25th. Was there enough time? Only time would tell. I must admit I was aware of the beard, as well, the length of my hair,I hadn’t had my hair that long for many years.

Yesterday was the 25th of November, have a look at the picture of me with and without makeup. Damn, it looked pretty good.

Eager to see how it would look I donned some of the costume and had another picture taken, I think we can pull this off.

Better get the entire costume on and model.

All good things come to an end, back into my Clark Kent persona. I must admit it was fun. To see the look on the faces of the children was priceless. In closing let me say “HO HO HO Merry Christmas!”

Next up: Leaf reportcard.
